Laura, You have been so thorough and encouraging about helping us prepare our house for sale. Painting, cleaning, etc. all very helpful and necessary but one of the most dramatic requests you made we almost passed up. Against our initial thoughts, you suggested (without being pushy) that we stage the property. I couldn’t see how we could get our money’s worth but we conceded.
What a transformative step this was! After staging, the house looks so inviting and selection of furniture, etc. looks like what someone would have in their house (not like from a dept. store furniture area). Honestly, our place looks like a model home! We would buy the house again (tsk)!
I would encourage everyone (no matter how cool you think your own furniture might be) to hire a stager. Erin Schmidt, your stager, was hands down the best. And, she was affordable as well. Best investment we made. Please use us as a testimonial if you have anyone who is hesitating about staging.
